2026 Season Registration

🥎🥎🥎Welcome to the 2026 Waterville Draft League season!🥎🥎🥎

 

🥎By signing up below, you will be placed on our draft list to be chosen to play for one of our teams and coaches. You will be working together to achieve the goal of becoming WDL Champions!

🥎Each team will play a 20-game season, with double headers every week (bye weeks may be incorporated depending on the number of teams). Games are played on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at Rummels Field (and potentially Herlihy, Waterville Junior High School, pending number of teams), with makeup dates planned for the end of the season or Sunday nights.

🥎A preseason live draft will be held; location and date are TBD at this time.

🥎The cost to play is a one-time, $110 registration fee per player. This cost goes towards the costs of the league (i.e., scorekeeper, gamechanger, league website, field rentals and costs, umpires, balls, insurances, taxes, etc).

🥎Once teams have been drafted, then coaches will order jerseys designed by them and their sponsor.

🥎Player stats, records, and other information are kept every game and posted online.

🥎These stats will be used to choose the winner of the awards that we hand out.

🥎At the end of the regular season, every team makes the playoffs, and a double-elimination bracket is held to determine our top two teams. Those two teams go on to play in our League Championship, in a best-of-3 series.

🥎To end the season, our league's best will compete in our Homerun Derby and All-Star Game! 

 

🥎*Collecting payment will open January 1st, 2026! 

🥎*Deadline for payment into the league February 1st, 2026*

🥎*Players not paid for by February 1st will be moved to the unpaid list, and their spot on the draft list will not be saved. Once the paid players list reaches the highest goal threshold of players, it will lock, and every player signed up afterwards will move to the waitlist until we reach a high enough number to add more teams.

 

🥎*Please note: Pending the number of sign-ups, you are not guaranteed a spot on the draft list. It is first-come first first-served, and those who are late to sign up will be put on our waitlist. Those on the waitlist will receive an email stating that they were put on the waitlist.*

🥎*Equal playing time each week is not guaranteed. It is highly encouraged that our coaches give everyone an equal opportunity, but it cannot be guaranteed.*

Player Waiver 

By registering for the 2026 Waterville Draft League season, you agree to the following:

 

1. I voluntarily elect to accept and assume all risks of injury incurred or suffered by me (a) while practicing or playing as a member of the team so designated, (b) while serving in a non-playing capacity as team member during practice or play by other teams or by other players on my team, and (c) while on or upon the premises of any and all of the fields arranged for by my team or league for practice or play. 

 

2. I hereby waive, release, indemnify, defend and hold harmless the City of Waterville, Waterville Draft League, and all of its officials, employees, officers and agents (both in their public and private capacities) from any and all liability, claims, suits, demands and causes of action (expressly including, but not limited to, all expenses of litigation and settlement) which are related to or arise by reason of (1) bodily injury, up to and including death, suffered by me or any other person or (2) loss of, loss of use of, or damage to any property, when such bodily injury or property loss arises out of, results from, or is occasioned by any act of error, omission or negligence by me or any other person (expressly including but not limited to all officials, employees, officers and agents of the City of Waterville and Waterville Draft League) when such act arises out of, results from, or is connected with my participation in Waterville Draft League registered for herein. 

 

3. I will, without limitation, assume and pay all medical and emergency expenses in the event of an accident, injury, illness, or other incapacity, regardless of whether I have authorized such expense. 

*Note: All individually registered members of USA Softball are automatically covered for Liability and Accident Insurance. The Liability provides a limit of $2,000,000 per occurrence and with a $5,000,000.00 aggregate limit to protect you from lawsuits arising out of bodily injury or property damage to others as a result of your softball activities. USA Softball individual registration members are also automatically provided with a $250,000 limit of Accident Medical insurance. This policy helps cover the cost of medical treatment if you are injured while playing softball (https://registerusasoftball.com/Account/About.aspx?info=InsCert). 

 

4. I understand that there is a no refund policy once my name is selected off the draft list. I agree to show up to as many league games as I can and understand that my coach can drop me off the team due to lack of participation in league games. 

 

5. I agree that Waterville Draft League, its officials, employees, and representatives have the authority to use pictures of me taken at any Waterville Draft League event. The pictures may be taken and used without my knowledge or payment to me.
